Systems Engineer – Compass Managed Services

A position is available for a Systems engineer in the Managed Service Team.

To fill this role we need a confident, positive, self-motivated and intuitive communicator to provide support to our internal and some external customers.

You will be responsible for monitoring and supporting our customers' ICT solutions and resolving support requests with team members from the Technical Solutions department within Customer Care and the Compass Network Services Department. You will work closely with your peers in the managed services team and report to the team leader of the Infrastructure and Platforms team. As part of the role you will have the ability to develop your current skills into an area of specialisation for the platforms and services we operate.

To be successful, you will be skilled with any of the following certifications: Network+, CCNA, MCSE, and MCP or similar. Alternatively, relevant industry experience in a Telco, IT or ISP environment is an advantage.

A position is available for a technician in our CNS - Data Team. To fill this fast paced role we need a confident, positive, self-motivated and intuitive communicator to provide data network support to our large network of business, residential and retail customers. 

You will work amongst your peers to deliver and excel in both technical and customer service output to continually strive for improvement - not only via the network but on an individual basis. Excellent verbal communication skills are essential as most of your time will be spent on the phone.

You will be responsible for monitoring and resolving call targets and assessing data network performance, as well as your individual performance, by meeting deadlines and service level agreements on a day to day basis.

Business Analyst

To be successful in this role you will have strong facilitation and communication skills; have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally; show an aptitude for analysing business and systems processes and have a proven ability to work as part of a team.

You will have excellent inter-personal and communication skills as well as a highly analytical mindset A strong technical understanding across SQL, Excel & Business Information is required to perform in the role.

The source data can be complex and sometimes incomplete, as a result you will utilise your problem solving abilities to build queries to interrogate the data sets successfully. This is a role where you'll be working closely with a number of internal business units.

As the product set focuses around Telecommunications Revenue Assurance a background working within the Telecommunications or Financial sector would be preferred.

Your duties will include:

  • Querying and Analysis of source data
  • Requirements gathering, documenting business processes
  • Working with people from business units to develop common business definitions and to make recommendations on process improvement
  • Working closely with specific business units to determine reporting and analysis requirements
  • Another key focus of the team is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data available.

You will ideally possess the following skills:

  • Proven hands-on data and business analysis skills
  • Great communication skills are essential.
  • Be passionate about data and impress us with your advanced Excel skills and your ability to write SQL queries (SQL Server 2005).
  • Experience in Telecommunications or Financial Services industry (preferred)
  • The ability to analyse problems and provide well thought out solutions by analysing data, interpreting results.
  • A commercial degree or IT degree or other specialised training/experience (Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing, or similar)
  • The ability to demonstrate elements of leadership skills
